Description

Pegaforte is a broad-spectrum, apple-flavoured deworming paste for horses of all ages, including pregnant mares. It combines ivermectin and praziquantel to provide protection against a wide range of internal parasites.

Pegaforte is effective against large and small strongyles, ascarids, pinworms, hairworms, intestinal threadworms, large-mouthed stomach worms, lungworms, tapeworms and bots.

The 10 g syringe contains enough paste to treat a 600 kg horse at the recommended dose. Each syringe marking provides a dose for 100 kg body mass, so the horse’s weight should be determined before treatment.

Composition:
Ivermectin 12 mg/g
Praziquantel 150 mg/g

Directions for use:
Pegaforte is administered orally. Make sure the horse has no food in its mouth before dosing. Insert the syringe into the gap between the front and back teeth and place the paste onto the back of the tongue. Raise the horse’s head for a few seconds afterwards to encourage swallowing.

Worm control:
Regular strategic deworming is important as part of an overall parasite control program. Treatment intervals should be based on the horse’s age, management, grazing conditions and local parasite-control recommendations. Rotating dewormer groups may also form part of a planned worm control program.
